Nic LAMB

Born in Santa Cruz, California in 1988, Nic started surfing at the age of five. He started competing and winning at the age of 9 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Nic is the youngest surfer, at age 15, to have taken on Mavericks, a world renowned surf spot in northern California.  Over the years it has been known to produce some of the largest and most dangerous waves in the world.  They regularly reach 7 metres (25 feet) high and big swells can go as high as 25 metres (80 feet).  The surfing conditions are considered so dangerous that very few surfers even attempt it.

At the age of 16 Nic went professional and became California State Champion in his sophomore year of high school.

Nic now competes full time on the World Surf League Big Wave Tour where he came in first place during the Punta Galea Challenge in December 2014.

Known in the surfing world as a “big wave chaser”, he has all his energy focussed and sights set on winning a world title.

"I'm truly honored to have been chosen to become an ambassador for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

A healthy, active lifestyle through the platform of sport has been synonymous with my success in and out of the ocean. Competitive sports can be integral in teaching the fundamentals of life. I feel it's our responsibility to give back and actively help the next generation.

H.S.H. Princess Charlene’s passion to help teach, guide and inspire children is unsurpassed. Children are the future, and with proper guidance, hard work and inspiration can aspire to their greatest dreams" he said.
