PCMF USA Supports Swim Strong Foundation's Swim Program

Swim Strong Foundation provides water safety and learn-to-swim programs to children and families in the New York City area, including those who are unable to afford payment due to cultural or economic barriers.

Students learn about water safety as it relates to different environments (pool, beach, rivers, lakes, etc.).  They learn to move with confidence in the water; learn floating and streamlining skills on stomach and back, learn proper breathing and swimming skills. Students who are able to swim 50 yards (via a demonstrated swim test) are deemed to have passed the basic skill level.

With the support of PCMF USA and other sponsors, Swim Strong will cover free swim lessons for 225 at-risk students whose families would otherwise not be able to afford to pay for classes. With the “Know Before You Go” presentations to 20 schools, Swim Strong will reach 5000 students.
