Saint Devote Rugby Tournament – 27.02.2016

TSH Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, accompanied by HSH Hereditary Prince Jacques, braved the rain and the cold weather to come cheer on the participants of the "Saint Devote Tournament" organised by the Monegasque Rugby Federation and with the support of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

HSH Hereditary Prince Jacques showed significant interest on the field.

Ten U12 (under 12 years) teams from nine countries took part in the competition at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco.
The Jemmal team (Tunisia) competed in the final against Abu Dhabi (U.A.E.) and won the tournament for the second year in a row.  The Saint Devote Trophy was handed to them in Monaco.  The South African team, who was invited as part of the "South Africa - Monaco Rugby Exchange", one of the key components of the "Sport and Education" programme, took 4th place.

A programme called "Tots Rugby", which initiated children 3 to 5 years old to the sport, also took place and provided educational workshops and competitions adapted to their age group.  The day-long event successfully celebrated friendship and interaction.
