In 2026, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation USA proudly marks ten years of commitment to water safety and drowning prevention across the United States.
Founded in 2016 by HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco — former Olympian and lifelong advocate for water safety — the Foundation was built on a simple but vital belief: every child should have the opportunity to learn life-saving skills and feel confident in and around the water.
Over the past decade, the Foundation has expanded programs across California, Florida, New York, and beyond, helping provide swim instruction and water safety education to thousands of children and families, including vulnerable youth in foster care and underserved communities.
Thanks to the dedication of our partners, instructors, donors, and supporters, children who might otherwise never have had access to swim education have gained essential skills that can save lives, build confidence, and create opportunity.
Yet the need remains urgent. Drowning continues to be one of the leading causes of accidental death among children, and access to swim instruction is still far from equal.
As we celebrate this important milestone, we also look ahead to the Foundation’s next decade of impact — expanding access to water safety education, strengthening community partnerships, and reaching even more children nationwide.
The continued support of our friends and supporters makes this mission possible.
Together, we can help ensure that every child has the chance to learn, grow, and stay safe in the water.
